dudes!
dudes!
amazing tour stop today in portland.
i'm in the dressing room, hard at work, and someone says to me "hey somebody's here for you." and i look up. cause i was on the floor trying to get my janky phone charger (broken) into the one and only position that it will charge. and there is a girl there with two ziploc bags of cookies.
a week ago or so mike posted a blog telling people to come say hello to me. and someone listened. dude, remember that time i told you i was tony soprano and you were big pussy? (mom, don't re-read that one. it's bad enough that you read it once.) well, i take that back.
meet shayla.my new portland friend. an amazing conversationalist and a fantastic photographer.
she brought cookies! my rep for baked goods loving precedes me. they are delicious. i am eating them in my bunk now.
it was so rad to have someone show up out of the blue but exist entirely on the same relative plane that you do. inspiration!
so far chicago and portland totally represented. i guess seattle did too. just not with locals. but that's not their fault i flaked on letting people know i was in town. but chicago and portland! yes. the weber grill aside. look! this is where i sleep. the cookies from portland, the mcphee book from chicago. thanks!
tomorrow i think i am going to go to the Olafur Eliasson at the SFMOMA. who wants to go?
thanks to new pal owleypatrol for the heads up.

it was so lovely hanging out with you too!
next spring - you me and j. hopz on chicago-to-st. louis walkabout. ruling.

the eliasson @ sfmoma is insane and amazing. hope you get to go. i totally got busted by the security volunteers trying to take covert cameraphone photos of it so i could share the awesomeness. maybe you will have better luck being sneaky. the photos wouldnt have done it justice anyway.
